Unturned Hovel

Players

Gourd Dwarf - Ser Hart Lieber
Spuk - Dr. Stefan Suzuki, MD
Bue - Gunnar Gunnarsonson

Session

Suzuki and Gunnar hit the town to search for the missing crew. They pay for a catamaran and follow the rumors to the island to find Hart and the rest of the crew. After spotting a pod of the conical whales they make landfall on the darkened isle.

Lieber demands to meet the group of locals and releases his prisoner to have a meeting with the group.

The crew reunites and Suzuki begins a triage for the burnt up nobles and bodyguards. Gunnar offers to put them out of their misery. Lieber and Suzuki decline. The crew puts away their weapons in hopes of not angering the local humanoids. https://unturnedhovel.bearblog.dev/frydheld-10-6-26/ Suzuki tends to the wounds of the noble and his bodyguards. Gunnar and Hart set up the meeting zone for the haunts. They arrive after some time, the star of darkness vanishing in the air. A leader meets with Hart as Gunnar keeps the pirates in check. The leader is not hostile and is amenable to Lieber's words of forgiveness. After sharing rum the leader shares that the nobles came killing and looting. The crew decide to turn the noble and bodyguards back over. Cassandra the shipwright raises the notion that it might be unwise to leave the pirates as witnesses. Lieber agrees and marches the pirates to the pit.

Lieber asks the leader of the Wechini to come travel with the crew in exchange for more people to join the Wechini. The leader takes the name of Idlewanderer Wechini.

The crew makes it back to port and gets the reward from Cassandra. They set up deliveries to the Wechini for food.

They jump to Barbiestov and Idlewanderer teaches Gunnar another spell on the ship.

Arriving on Barbiestov they find a planet with no government divvied among powerful families. They are told Captain Silverfish is an honorable man and to avoid the cousin fucking Vonne Hurds. An introduction is made with the old captain who asks them to recover a stallion and two mares of his that were rustled by the Vonne Hurds.

Reflections

I am pleased with the effect that knowing what comes ahead has had on my prep. I know the general path the players are taking and have been able to prepare the planetary sandboxes ahead of their arrival a bit more than usual. It's been engaging to see how even another pass or two on locations and NPCs can affect how sticky situations are for the PCs.

I need to take a look at how wounds are recovered from casting spells as that has now come up and I should make a ruling on it. Maybe something like wounds inflicted by casting heal with a week of rest or something like that.
